Orsolya Hosszú – trichologist, phytotherapist and specialist teacher of trichoaesthetics

My education
I was born in Budapest. After attending an Italian-language secondary school, I graduated in management from the College for Foreign Trade in 1992, then continued my studies in biology and trichology in Italy. Between 1992 and 1996, I worked alongside Professor Enzo Formentini of the Biology Department at the University of Mantua as a teaching assistant, giving continuing education lectures and carrying out research in the field of hair health. After 15 years of professional practice, I was admitted to the MSc in Trichology at the University of Florence in 2011. I passed my naturopathy examinations in 2012 and my specialist phytotherapy examination in 2013 with distinction at the Institute for Continuing Education in Pharmacy and Healthcare (GYEMSZI-ETI).

In 2013, I gained practical experience in traditional herbal medicine at the school of Gyuri bácsi, the herbalist from the Bükk Mountains, in Bükkszentkereszt. I also graduated from LIUC University in Italy in 2014 as an international specialist teacher of trichoaesthetics. In 2016, I completed a course in medical diagnostics using polarising microscopy in Bologna.

My work is my vocation
Since 2014, I have been studying psychosomatics at UNIPSI, the University of Health and Psychology in Turin.

I have worked in trichology, the study and treatment of hair and scalp conditions, and phytotherapy for 25 years, and have taught these subjects for 23 years. I chose this specialism to help people understand and raise awareness of hair health. There is a growing need for well-trained practitioners in this field, as the many hair and scalp problems people encounter can be confusing and frightening to those without specialist knowledge.

Hair problems often signal developing illnesses in the body at an early stage. The eyes are the mirror of the soul, while the hair is the mirror of health — both physical and emotional. Recognising the first signs allows us to respond with gentle therapies, almost anticipating illness, rather than resorting to more intensive medication. Providing people with information early is often more effective than treating them with medication later, because they can take timely steps to help prevent illness and keep their bodies and minds healthy.

My relationship with EWS
I continually carry out research, teach and work in my own practice. Developing and using new methods, analytical equipment and measuring devices is essential to providing care to a high standard. An incorrect examination result leads to an incorrect diagnosis and, in turn, an inappropriate therapy. Many patients suffer as a result, so when the opportunity arose to participate in Energy Wave System's innovative developments, I was pleased to offer my expertise. Many colleagues in Italy also favour our Hungarian-developed devices because of their reliable, verifiable and precise results.

My philosophy
I believe that our efforts in holistic medicine can bring results in both conventional and alternative medicine. Natural remedies can improve patients' condition without harmful side effects or overburdening their immune systems. As low-level laser, micromassage, magnetic and biofrequency therapy devices gently guide a dysfunctional body towards health, we can also meet the growing demand for natural approaches.

Hungarian Association of Trichologists
In 2016, we founded the Hungarian Association of Trichologists (MATRE), which is authorised to carry out advocacy, public information, vocational training and continuing education activities. I serve as its president. We have collaborated with SITRI, the Italian Society of Trichology, since 2011, and I usually attend its Italian congresses twice a year as an invited guest speaker.

I believe that EWS devices, together with the expertise I have accumulated, enable me to help people suffering from various scalp and hair conditions.
